Chromolithograph advertising cards for Singer Sewing Machines illustrating costumes from around the world and various models of machines. places and costumes illustrated on the 36 cards are India (2), Ceylon (1), Japan (1), Zululand (1), Portugal (1), Hungary (2), Italy (4), Bosnia (2), Burmah (1), Tunis (2), Algeria (1), Spain (7), Roumania (2), Netherlands (1), Norway (2), Sweden (2), Servia (2), Manila (1), China (1). No duplicates. The cards are generally in very good condition, but they do have some wear and soiling. The original paper carrying case is also present, but in fair to poor condition. The top of this has been re-attached with document repair tape which is considered archival. These were likely issued for the 1893 Chicago exhibition. Other information suggests complete sets may have 36 or 50 cards, but 36 seems to be the most found in a group. Singer may have grouped them different ways to give away or sell. Overall, a very good collection of 36 cards with colorful images iwith case ntended for advertising. Note: due to size and weight, shipping outside the USA or priority shipping will be less expensive than an average book. Very good / fair. Item #4418
