Seltex Rope Artificial Silk (rayon) display box with stock
Belding Hemingway, 1950. First Edition. Hardcover. display box ca. 12" x 15.5" x 2.5", soiled and worn, but in good condition outside, inside in very good condition with printed page on inside of cover with color samples shown and company name. Has 5 cents in pencil partly erased with 4 cents written over it.
Case is divided into 8 compartments containing many samples for sale in wide range of reddish collors from very light pink to burgundy. Most of sample have their paper labels giving how much material is there and a color number, some are bound together with a second paper label to make a larger bundle of material. Sample very good to near fine. The box lid is held partly open by for show on a countertop by2 strings- one of these is gone. Scarce survivor. Estimate ca. 100 sample skeins of ca. 4 - 4.5 yds each.
