Mordant Colors on Wool
New York: General Dyestuff Corporation, I, G, Farbenindustrie, n.d. Hardcover. octavo, ca. 7" x 10", pp. 22, bound in original biege cloth covered boards with brown lettering on covers and back strip, covers fairly heavily soiled, and boards a bit warped, contents of pages are 190 dyed wool sample of wide range of possible colors . Many or the samples are detiorated- possibly due to chemicals in the dyes, but most are quite illustrative of the material available. "G.D.C. 31" is printed in a couple places. This is probably the catalog number. There is no date noted in the book. A guess is 1930. Like many companies they had a somewhat complex history. The Company had parts with early roots in the U.S. but I. G Farben was formed in 1925 and split up in 1951, so this catalog dates from that period and may have been printed in Germany. Overall fair to good copy with soiling of covers and contents are age darkened. Fair - Good. Item #14386
