Hardcover. 8vo , ca. 6.5" x 9" pp. 460, 4 of catalog, bound in brown cloth covered boards with gilt and black decoration, moderate wear, Covers good, Contents age toned, but very good with lots of illustrations. Early edition if not the first. The copyright date is 1880 with no other dates given. There is an ink inscription on front free endpaper dated 1944 stating that the book was read to him as a child by his mother and this is signed by Everett B. Hurlburt who appears to have died in 1971- putting his early years in the 1880's. His Obit also says he developed Aqua Velva. Overall, a good or better copy.
