Hardcover. 8vo, ca. 5.5" W x 8.75" ,pp. 32 plus folding map at front, nicely half-bound in light brown polished calf with cloth covered boards showing moderate wear and some soiling, contents very good, but with a dampstain toward the bottom edge - encroaching ca. 1.5" into the pages, but not affecting the map. An attractive copy despite age. According to Howes, Sturgis made some trading voyages to the Northwest Coast, when younger, and wrote this review of the situation. He, appears to have also written about claims, by Russia, to areas on the north west coast. Old owner ink name and date 1928 on front free endpaper.
