Hardcover. bound in original blind stamped cloth covered boards in good condition, spine faded gilt lettering on spine is faint, corners lightly bumped, pp 237 including appendix and many good illustrations. Earlier owner's signature on the front end paper and on the title page in pencil. The edition is not stated but the date on the title page is 1857 while the copyright date is 1856. The third edition was 1858, so this is most likely the second edition or possibly the first. Overall a very good copy. Very good +. Item #2711
