Hardcover. octavo, ca. 6"x 9", bound in original blue cloth covered boards with gilt figure on front cover and faded gilt lettering on backstrip, edges of pages red, pp. xiv, 190, color illustration before half title and page and color illustration before title page with 10 other color plates for a total of 12 as called ford. The back stip is darkened from age and exposure, but covers have been protected by slipcase. There is browning at the bound edge of pages at front and back of book coming from the exposed backstrip. Overall, a good to very good copy. No names or bookplates inside. The heavy card slip case is present and darkened and worn from age and exposure but still in good condition. Included is an issue of The Monthly Magazine of the Junior Heritage Club which is dedicated to this book it is pp. 16 and in fine condition. There is no paper dust jacket and not obvious there should be one. For descriptive purposes, we are considering the slipcase to be a dust jacket. The publisher's notes state that the special contents of this edition are copyrighted by the Limited Editions Club 1940. Note: due to size and weight, shipping outside the USA will cost about that of an average book. Good + / good. Item #2990
