Large folio atlas ca 14"x 21" (35cm x54cm), bound in full black leather with some gilt decoration, however, the front cover is detached and the first few leaves are detached but present. Complete with all pages called for in the table of contents. Most of the contents are double pages- facing pages- of text or maps with text. Most pages and all maps have coloring in light pinks, yellows, blues and greens. Most pages are age darkened- worst perhaps is the title page which is especially dark around the edges. There is light dampstaining near edges of a few leaves- generally not affect the text or images. Boards show moderately heavy wear. Covers fair- needs rebacking, Contents good. The Title pages is dated 1806. most of the maps 1805. The world map near the front is dated 1808. The first few pages after the title page are indicated in the table of contents as being additions to the original work and those include the world map. This is likely and 1808 printing of the revised work. Good. Item #3316
