Hardcover. quarto, quarterbound in burgundy morocco with paper covered boards - x library copy with library markings on spine and inside, but in good condition. The binding is starting to fail with some cracks along hinges, but still sound. There is a paper label taped on the front cover giving the issue numbers that are inside. Not very attractive, but functional. This volume has issues 57-60 for 1879-80 Each part with its own page numbers. Part 57 has 3 folding plates on gold and silver production, part 58 has 7 maps on 3 plates of the Mediterranean, part 59 has 3 maps on 3 plateswith parts of Japan, and part 60 7 maps on 1 plate. the title page for this part is, oddly, at the front of the book rather than with this section. The map plates are all folding and some have closed tears. Maps are otherwise very good with detail and color for which this publisher is well known. Text is in German. Subjects include- Gold and Silver Production, Climate of Mediterranean Countries, Nakasendo in Japan, and Sea Fishing areas and seasons 1869- 878. Overall, good to very good copies with age toned paper and x - library. Note: due to size and weight, shipping outside the USA or priority shipping will probably cost less than an average book.
