Palatinatus Bavariae Bavaria (map)
Amsterdam: Blaeu family, 1640. Early Edition. unbound. folding map ca. 19.7" x 15.1", on paper a bit larger ca. 22.3 " x 18.4, folding to ca. 11.2" x 18.4", undated but ca. 1640, printed text on back side, paper is age toned, some dirt around the edges, map area generally bright with good color, though dulled some by the paper aging, there are some darker areas toward top of map which appear to be due to a yellow- brown coloring in most of those areas- prsumably reacting with paper and air over time. Two of these are larger and, when the paper is folded, they overlap, thus, they likely originated from one spot in the closed atlas from which this map originates. Overall, good copy. For shipping, map will likely be rolled into tube or suitable box. Note: due to size and weight, shipping outside the USA may be more expensive than an average book. Good. Item #3695
