Direct and Basic Colours
Basle: Ciba Company, 1950. Cloth. octavo bound in original brown cloth covered boards with tan color lettering on covers and back strip, inside are ca. 17 pages with more information about the dyes -text in English- but, the bulk of the book is a set of 22 pages containing 696 spectacularly colored samples of thread. The thread appears to be cotton. . There is an ink stamp for Ciba Company on the title page and there is a name written in ink on three pages. No date is printed, so we are estimating 1950. The covers are a bit warped, but generally good or better, the conetnts are moderately soiled at the top two inches or so- probably from the book sitting on a shelf unused for a long time. That soiling affect the lighter color samples a bit more than the darker samples but the overall effect on the samples is not so noticeable as on the card backing itself. This collection of color thread samples is the most extensive we have seen. Overall, content good to very good and vovers very good. Due to size and weight shipping outside the USA may be more expensive. Good +. Item #4160
