Full leather. quarto, 2 volumes, bound in brown calf, rebacked with brown cloth but covered by original gilt decorated backstrips, some small chips of leather missing from tops and bottoms of original backstrips, two spine labels missing but "Heber's Journals" clearly visible. Moderate shelf wear. The contents are generally very good or better, some age toning of paper, 10 plates including the two frontispieces with light to moderate foxing, folding map of India with color outlining and moderately heavy foxing, there are 25 wood cut engravings as called for in the first edition. pp. xlvii, 631 and vi, 515 for the two volumes. The list of subscribers is in volume 1. No bookplates or earlier owner names noted. Overall, internally a very good set but with external wear and signs of its age. Note: due to size and weight, shipping outside the USA or priority shipping will be more expensive. Very good. Item #5176
