Beautifully bound in half black leather with marbled paper covered boards with gilt decoration and red spine labels. Binding fine with very little wear. Contents fine with numerous b&w and color illustrations. Overall, fine copy. The author explains in the preface that Eden lived in India from 1836 to 1842 when her brother was Governor Consul of India and she traveled with him- she published a work in 1866 titled "Up the Country" which can still be found in reprint and a few original copies.
