Hardcover. tall quarto, small folio, portfolio of 30 gorgeous chromolithograph plates printed on stiff cards along with descriptive text in the front material of 18 pages also on stiff paper. There are several ink names on the inside of the front cover along with a printed stick of a private collection. The portfolio itself is in good to fair condition- moderately soiled, one tie missing, fold over flap which helps hold items inside is detache from foreedge and missing from top and bottom edges. The images are of all sorts of gold work- mostly jewelry but other items too with great color, though certainly age darkened a bit. There is a little foxing on some plates, but generally not detracting. One or two have darkening near edges from exposure to the elements. Overall, a great collection of high quality chromolithographs of works of art in gold. Portfolio- fair, contents very good. Good +. Item #6177
