Santa Fe Trail No. 2 January 1, 1892 Galesburg, IL. insert (25 copies)

Chicago: Passenger Dept. Santa Fe Railroad, 1892. First Edition. Paperback. folio, 2 large sheets folded twice to ca. 10in. x 14 in. There are 28 copies, but paper is brittle and all have some sort of damage from heavy soiling to tears along folds, tears not along folds, chips missing, parts of pages missing, etc. Front page advertises the Montezuma Hotel in New Mexico, draft horse and train schedules , back cover shows train routes and schedules , inside pages show mostly images of buildings in Galesburg, IL. Appears to be mainly an advert for Galesburg inside while outer pages are for the train. One can suppose that other cities might have their own insert. no copy in good condition, but a few may be fair or close, but scarce item outside of this group. Nearly every issue has a pencil name at the upper left, a guess is that these were meant for train passengers and have their names on them, but were not distributed. no other bookplates or owner names noted. Note: due to size and weight, shipping outside the USA may cost less than an average book. Poor - Fair. Item #7829

Price: $51.00
