Paris: Librairie Commerciale, 1920. Fourth Edition. Hardcover. small folio ca. 10"x 13" - 2 volumes bound in original blue cloth covered boards with moderate wear and soiling- good copies. The paper for the text pages is age toned- more so around the edges. The paper for the color illustrations is higher quality and not much darkened from age. Subjects are Automobiles, Dynamos, etc. There are 5 color plates in each volume for total of 10 and numerous b&w illustrations of the machines. Text in French. Most of the color illustrations are overlays - where the various layers can be lifted back to see the other parts inside the the machine to help the viewer better understand how the machine is made and how it works- there are fairly complex with several layers in some cases. They are also fragile. They appear to be complete, but it is possible some small parts may be lacking. pp. 1- 232 and 233- 477. no dust jacket - as issued.
