Mechanicsburg: Seifert & Co., 1855. This an American coverlet in navy blue, red , green on beige with light general wear , but more around edges overall very good condition . Size is ca. 83" x 88", "Manufactured by Seifert & Co, Mechanicsburg, Cumberland Co. PA" words are in the weaving. (86) it is undated but other coverlets by this maker are from 1850- 1860. Houses, birds, cows, vines in the pattern. Seifert & Co. is a known coverlet weaver - apparently formed by brothers who were weaving earlier. Scale of condition is "as new", "near fine", "very good", "good", "fair", "poor". Nearly all used items have parts that are more heavily worn than other parts and we attempt to give some feeling for how much is in poorer condition than the rest.
